For part of October break we took the kids on an overnight hike/backpacking trip up in the Superstition Mountains to Reavis Falls/Canyon. We went with some friends, The Davis Family. It was 5.5 miles in and 5.5 miles out. The kids did really well packing their gear and had a great time with their friends. We saw some beautiful scenery, lots of cactus, played in the creek and made some fun family memories. I felt like I was 100 years old the day after and could barely move but it was worth it!

Logan's First Wrestling Medal

Logan received his first wrestling/grappling medal this past weekend. He went 2 rounds and had to go into overtime by take down to determine the winner. The other kid took Logan down in OT but Logan still got the 2nd place medal.

He did REALLY well for his first tournament, we are so proud of him! YAY Logan!

Back to School - Hooray!

The kids started school this week! I know, crazy Arizona! It's still 112 degrees outside but they have to start school here and I don't consider summer over until September, all well. Carlee is in 2nd grade and Logan is in 4th this year. They both love their teachers, thank goodness. Carlee has the same teacher that Logan had in 2nd grade, so we know what to expect and we are very happy with her. Logan has a teacher that came recommended by other moms and she seems to be great so far. I'm happy to get our "routine and schedule" back. I'm also grateful to be able to get things done in a matter of hours instead of days and that there is nobody complaining about how many errands there are or how long it's taking to get them done! OH HAPPY DAYS!! :)

Here's to another fun-filled, action packed, pencil marking, homework doing, after school activities, backpack dragging, high drama, new & old friends, let the craziness resume school year!

Wild Rapids ride that Carlee BEGGED to go on ALL day because she was hot and wanted to get wet. So, she went w/ dad, Logan and the grandparents. She got the MOST wet and was upset because she had to then walk around SOAKED the rest of the day. I tried to tell her but she didn't want to listen to me! :)

We took a trip to Solana Beach (north of La Jolla ) and to Seaworld with Mike's family this summer. We also celebrated Logan's birthday (and my nephew who turned 1). It was really fun! We spent 3 days on the beach doing NOTHING! Okay, well that was me and it was heaven! The kids played in the sand, boogie boarded, swam and snorkeled. Mike, his brother, Logan and grandpa all went snorkeling at La Jolla Cove and got to swim with and see a bunch of Leopard Sharks, they are breeding right now. 40-50 of them were surrounding them and swimming with them along with a bunch of sting rays. They said it was neat, I passed. Logan got to experience it but after a couple minutes (and being able to say he did it) he was done. Our trip to Seaworld was really fun too and we all had a long, fun day. We celebrated the boys birthdays at Anthony's Fish Grotto on the Pier in San Diego. It was delicious!

Our friends, The Shorts - from California, came for a visit and hauled their boat out. We went to the lake for 2 1/2 days and had a blast! Kids and adults all had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it! Logan learned how to ski (with the help of the ski trainer) and wakeboard. We all wakeboarded, wakesurfed, swam, fishing, the boys went cliff jumping and the kids went tubing. Thank you Short Family for coming to visit!

Carlee had her Dance Recital and LOVED it! She did really well and knew all the moves. She also helped keep the other girls going on stage. Carlee doesn't seem to get shy or have stage fright, thank goodness! Now we're on to tumbling...

Logan had to do a project at school at learn about Zeus. Then, they did a Living Museum where they dressed up as their character and had to tell about them as the parents went room to room and walked through the Museum. It was really neat and Logan, dad and a neighbor

We took the kids hiking this past Friday since they were out of school for Good Friday. It was a BEAUTIFUL day! The kids carried their own backpacks for the first time (snacks and drinks included)! Everything is so green, lots of things in bloom and the rain has done us a lot of good here. However, we did meet an unexpected visitor on our last .50 mile of the hike out. It was a VERY exciting way to end our hike! Carlee was hiking first and thought it was a stick, then saw it move so she jumped, screamed and ran. Logan was scared, so he pushed Carlee back towards the SNAKE! They were like two stooges! I immediately grabbed the kids to "take cover" and let Mike handle the situation. The rattler was spooked by us, after all he was just sunning himself and trying to enjoy the day, like us. By this time he was off the trail but he was coiled and rattling. He was very bothered by all that was happening (Carlee screaming, trembling and crying. No matter what I said to her I couldn't calm her down.) Mike threw a rock at the snake to get him to move along and the snake struck at him. So, now it was "game on". After a long battle, and more people that had joined in because they too were hiking on the trail, the snake lost. We didn't want him attacking anyone else after we had gone off since he had already struck at Mike. It was exciting, scary and and a good family memory. All in all, it turned out to be a good day.

This year was Logan's first Pinewood Derby. He had a lot of fun and I think he liked having me there as the Asst. Cubmaster. It was definitely an adventure w/ a lot of Drama (not on our part, some parents get carried away and forget the true meaning of the race - THE BOYS and FUN)! Logan and his dad had a great time and are looking forward to next year and they are already making plans for their (I mean Logan's) next car! BOYS!

Carlee turned 7 and we had a party with 12 of her friends and cousins. Everything was going great...the house was cleaned, the yard was mowed, the cupcakes were baked, presents wrapped, crafts were ready and pizza ordered!

Then, it started to rain! In 7 years it has NEVER rained on Carlee's birthday and we've always had her party indoor/outdoor because it's always NICE WEATHER for her birthday. NOT this year! It was COLD and RAINY!

So, we moved everything inside (thank goodness we have a big enough house) and partied inside! It all turned out awesome (even though Mike was on shift and I was on my own - a BIG, HUGE THANK YOU to my two sister-in-laws for all their help!!).

Carlee had a blast and has some of the best friends ever! Thank you everyone!

So, the kids have been jumping the curbs when they are out riding their bikes. Mike doesn't want them to ruin their rims or tires so he decided to build them a ramp. Now they have competitions with each other and the neighbor kids to see who can jump the highest and farthest! Even one of the dads got in on it one day, so OF COURSE I had to take pictures! :) We have so much fun outside! Logan is the record holder so far at 70+ inches! (the neighbor dad beat Logan but Logan kept trying until he beat the dad because he couldn't stand that a dad had beat him!!) Mike did try this too but it was a day that I was gone to work. I don't know if it's because he didn't want me to take pictures or because he didn't want me to be present incase something happened and I said "I told you so!"

This is Christmas w/ Mike's family. It was refreshing and toned down this year. We spent the whole day together Saturday (the day after Christmas). We snacked on food, opened presents, played together, snacked on food, played some more and then had our family Christmas dinner. It was very fun to just spend the day together and not have a schedule and be able to play with the kids and enjoy their new toys. Carlee received dance lessons for the next 6 months from G&G Pobieglo, along with some other fun toys. Logan received the Bass Pro Shops The Strike for the Xbox 360, along with some other fun toys. They both had a wonderful Christmas this year.

This was Christmas w/ my parents and family. It's getting bigger every year! It is so fun with all the kids! Seeing them open their gifts and be so excited is a gift in and of itself! We have so much fun watching them! Then we eat, and EAT and EAT!!!!!! What a feast! My mom asked for requests from everyone this year and prepared something that everyone liked. It was wonderful to have so many different things. Thank you mom for all your hard work, it was FABULOUS!

This was OUR Christmas morning. The kids got exactly what they wanted. Logan FINALLY got his airsoft gun (w/ eye protection), some new chapter books, a movie, army stuff and an erector set and a space science set. Carlee got a new bedding set, boots, earrings and Littlest Pet shop stuff and a new bike helmet. They also both received the traditional Christmas PJ's. It was fun!

There is always something going on OUTSIDE in our neighborhood. Last week, on Friday, the kids were all outside and a game of football was played. The girls entertained themselves by riding around in a wagon and playing with one of the younger brothers. Even the parents look forward to Fridays because we can sit out in our driveways and visit while the kids play, all at the end of a long week. Come on over sometime...it's SO MUCH FUN! We're always outside!

Here are the only pics I got of the kids on Halloween! I wouldn't let them leave the house until I got a picture of them. Every year our neighborhood has a Block Party/Potluck. So, we stay outside from 5:00 until ?? It is FOOD, FUN, FOOD, Trick-o-treating, FOOD, the street is blocked off, FOOD, FUN, there is a costume contest, the kids run amuck for hours, laughter, great neighbors/friends and did I mention all the YUMMY FOOD?!?!

We were able to get away for Fall Break (even though the kids came down w/ something a few days before but they recovered quickly and were fever free for 48 hrs before we left). We went to visit some friends who live in Ventura County, California. Greg and Mike went to the Fire Academy together way back when, but Greg and Melissa grew homesick but received a call that they had been waiting for...Greg was hired w/ LA County Fire! They moved back home and we've missed them since.

We had a FABULOUS visit, YUMMY food and a GORGEOUS beach day!

Thank you for the fun and the memories! We had a blast!

Carlee managed to loose all 4 front teeth in the space of 5 weeks! She's having a hard time eating some of her favorite foods (corn on the cob). She asked me the other day if I could put her food in the blender for her! I just laughed! Thankfully, a bottom one is 1/2 grown in and the other one has just broken the gum!

Here are some pictures of Logan and his soccer team. His field is a LOT bigger than Carlee's so it's a little harder to get a good picture of him. His team played a lot better this week as far as defense goes. They even scored a goal, however - the other team still won. But our boys are getting much better and learning to love the game!

We had our first week of Soccer games last Saturday. Carlee did really well. Her team (The Pink Panthers - since their uniforms are pink) won their game and Carlee even scored a goal!

We took the kids and met our niece (and her parents) at Tempe Marketplace to let them play in the water sprinkler things (not really sure what they are called). They had a really great time and burned off some excess energy that they had from sitting in class/daycare all day. Then we had ice cream and went home to get ready for bed and school/daycare the next day.

The kids started back to school this month. Carlee was very excited, Logan not so much. I guess that's the difference between boys and girls! Carlee is a big first grader and Logan is in 3rd grade this year. So far so good. They both have great teachers and have a lot of friends in their classes. As for me, I am greatly enjoying my "free" time! It's SO nice to get my chores done and then have a little fun! It's also very nice to be going back to the gym after taking the summer off to be with the kids and travel. Here's to another fun school year!

Livvy wanted to get buried in the sand. However, it wasn't enough for her. She kept piling the sand up higher and higher, then the tide came in and flooded all around her. She just looked at the water and giggled and kept going!! It didn't bother her in the least! She's a funny kid.

See that little speck out infront of the BIG wave??? That's Mike and he's NOT a little guy. The waves got really big our last day at the beach. We later found out that there were some tremors along the San Andres fault that day!! Mike had a good time boogie boarding and body surfing since the waves were awesome!

Logan celebrated his 8th birthday today!

I have a million things to post about but I wanted to get his birthday post done on his birthday.

We had a family party for him on Monday. Everyone (Grandma & Grandpa Pobieglo, Grandma & Grandpa Cronin, Jared, Nicole, Audrey, Livvy, Shelby, Scott, Lindsay, Sara, Jenny, Landen, Jesse (Garrett had to work) and the 4 of us) all got together and went to Logan's Roadhouse (per Logan's request) for dinner. Then, we came back to our house for presents, cake and ice cream! Today, we took Logan and 2 friends (along w/ his sister and our niece, Sara) to Jump & Shout to play for a couple hours then to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. This evening we took the kids to see their new baby cousin, Ryan, who was born on Tuesday. They haven't seen him yet since they weren't allowed at the hospital and he finally came home today. Logan said he had a great day and great birthday! We sure do love Logan and are proud of the boy he's turning into. He's becoming more responsible and trying to help out around the house more. He's definitely grown a lot in the past year and he's eating a ton!

I completely forgot about these pictures! After school got out we went to the Children's Phoenix Science Museum w/ my sister-in-law, Nicole, and my nieces. Her friend went and brought her son too. We also took our niece, Sara. It was fun because of the kids. However, my opinion is DON'T BOTHER! It's over priced and my kids were bored after 1.5 hours. They could have a lot more things to do (all the pics you see here minus 3 things is all there is to do there). THAT'S MY OPINION. The kids had fun hanging out with their cousins though and we had fun watching them! We had more fun at Peter Piper Pizza afterwards for lunch! :)

Our First Exciting, Busy and FUN Camping Trip of the Summer!

I know there are A LOT of pictures but we had SO MUCH FUN that we had to share at least one picture of all of the highlights from the trip! Enjoy! Thanks to all of our friends and family that came to hang out and have fun with us! It was a blast...those of you that didn't come, better come next time, you missed out!

Panda says, "HELLO, do you see this thing...it's right next to me!" There were some wild horses that kept coming into camp and "hangin' out". It was really neat. However, Panda had never encountered a horse before and wasn't sure what to do. She was a good sport though!

We were camping by where the Rodeo-Chediski (i think that's how it's spelled) fire was so all we can figure were these were horses that were owned by people that let them go when the fire broke out. Now they are "wild" horses. He was still pretty tame and seemed pretty well taken care of. He had shed his "shoes" but was pretty friendly with us and the dogs. It was cool!

Our neighbor friend M. cleaning a fish (which she thought, before she started, sounded like a good idea since she had never done it before). Once she got started she realized how "smelly" it was and what she was doing (cleaning out the poop) started dry heaving and actually threw up in her mouth but swallowed it back down (like a good sport) and kept going! She was on a mission to prove she could do it w/ the boys! She's awesome! We love having her live next door! Her, Logan and Carlee are the 3 musketeers!

Carlee finally got brave enough to try riding the motorcycle on her own. She was doing really well by the end of the trip. She's just a little too short so she can't stop on her own because she can't reach the ground! She has to yell to Mike and "pull up" to him for him to grab on and hold her. It's really cute! She's loves it!

Carlee's Last Day of School

Carlee with a couple of her friends (that I was able to catch her with and get them to be still for the camera). Carlee was friends with most of the kids in her class, she makes friends easily.

Carlee and her WONDERFUL, FABULOUS teacher, Mrs. Olivas! Logan had her too. We will truly miss her as the kids are now moving on. She is a great teacher and the kids did so well in her class. Carlee loved being in this class and she had a fun year!

She was always willing to help out the teacher and other kids and willing to take things to the office or help kids to the nurse. Mrs. Olivas didn't have to worry that Carlee would get "side tracked" and not come back to class or not do what she was told/asked. :) That's my girl!

We are very proud of Carlee and can't believe she'll be a big First Grader next year!

Logan's Last Day of School

Logan's teacher, Miss Anderson, LOVES Hello Kitty! Someone got her a HUGE clock as a goodbye gift. She loved it!

Logan's entire class, minus his friend Miss Katelynn who was having a really hard time that it was the last day of school and was in tears at her desk next to me while taking this picture. I couldn't coax her into the pic. We missed you Katelynn!

The kids and parents all pitched in a bought Miss Anderson (one of the best teachers EVER) this really cool silver bracelet that has all the children's names and a character for that child on it and the school year. Needless to say she was in tears but we got her to get it together and smile for a picture! She was very surprised and thrilled!

Logan had a pizza party w/ capri suns and cupcakes! They also watched a movie, signed autograph books, ate candy, took pictures with friends and had a really good time saying good bye! But only until next year!

We are very proud of Logan for his efforts this past school year. He has done very well improving in his math skills and his reading. He will be a big Third Grader next year!

Goin' Buggy

The 2nd grade at Logan's school has a performance every year called Goin' Buggy. Logan didn't have a part (his choice) but he was part of the chorus. It was really cute. Both sets of grandparents and Scott, Lindsay and Sara all made it to watch the performance. Thanks for coming everyone and for going to YUMMY Golden Spoon afterwards!

Swimming has started!

We went swimming a few weeks ago at my parents. It was WAY to cold for me but Mike and the kids had a great time! They got to swim with their cousins, they are all little fish!

Logan was watching America's Funniest Home Videos the other day and got a great idea for pulling his latest loose tooth. Tie a string to your tooth and the other end to a remote control car and let it rip! So, between Logan and his dad they gave it a whirl this morning and it was a great success! Logan's big dune buggy RC pulled his tooth! Boys!!

Kindergarten "Moosical"

The entire kindergarten at Carlee's school performed their annual "Moosical" yesterday. It was ADORABLE! They all did such a great job and we had a wonderful time watching them perform.

Carlee was a dancing cow and performed the "milk shake". We were so proud of her!

Carlee took a small dance class this spring through the parks and rec. She had her last class and recital last night. She did really well. Our camera is on the blink since it got dropped and it now doesn't focus very well. I hope you can still see Carlee in these pictures.

We had some friends over Saturday night to watch the UFC fight. We usually just let the kids run around and do their thing until they finally drop. This is how Logan ended up! He tried to make it to the main event, no such luck!

Riding

We took the kids riding on Saturday so they could try out their new "toys". Logan and Carlee also got a TTR90 (Motorcycle - dirt bike). Logan choose to ride that instead of the quad, so mom got to ride that for the day. Carlee loved having her bright pink plastics and they now match her helmet and goggles that she got for Christmas. GOOD TIMES!

GOOD NEWS

As a result of the sale of the sandcar Mike bought a new quad, Logan got a new quad and Carlee got Logan's old quad. Well, Logan's old quad was red and black. Carlee thought that was "okay" but Mike and I thought she could use a surprise since Logan and daddy got "new" quads. This is what she came home from school to on Friday! Mike ordered her new plastics and I found her a new seat online. Mike got everything installed before she got home from school. She was really surprised and had no idea what to think!

Sad Day!

So, we were partners with Mike's cousin on the Sandcar. Well, the cousin wanted out and we had to sell the sandcar. It was a VERY sad and depressing day at the Pobieglo household. Mike had put a lot of blood, sweat, burns, time and money into it. We had a lot of fun memories and good times in the past 2 years. We will miss you "FUNCO", as the kids called it (that was the manufacturer).

UFC, Tooth Fairy & Easter Bunny

Do you think the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy would be able to compete in the UFC octagon? Well, we almost found out! Logan lost his second baby tooth on Saturday night (and of course Mike was gone on shift - he is ALWAYS gone on shift when there are holidays or important things like BLOOD - even though that's HIS JOB - that I have to take care of BY MY SELF!!) so I had to convince Logan that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy would both come! Logan was worried that they would "bump" into each other or that they wouldn't come because the "other" one was coming.

The things we do for our kids!!! I got everything covered and finally got some sleep. GO MOM!!

I think I should go a round or two in the octagon...there is a fight this Saturday. Any takers??!!?

Easter

We had a great Easter! One celebration on Saturday and one on Sunday. Fun was had by all and of course a lot of good food was eaten! The kids love playing with all their cousins, being able to eat candy and "run free". We hope you had a wonderful Easter too!

Schnepf Farms

All of the Kindergarten classes at Carlees school got to go on a field trip to Schnepf Farms. Mike got to go with her and be the leader of their little group. They had a great time petting animals, feeding animals, going on a hay ride, riding tricycles, picking their own head of lettuce to take home to eat and learning how a farm operates.

We have beautiful weather right now in Arizona! Our family is enjoying it while we can. Mike and I took the kids hiking again and enjoyed some of the views of the Superstition Mountains.

Birthday Party

Carlee had a "Heart" party this year for her birthday. Since her b-day is so close to Valentine's Day we had a lot of fun doing "hearty", girlie things! We decorated heart sugar cookies, made heart bracelets, played pin the heart on the heart (instead of pin the tail on the donkey), played a heart guessing game and smashed up a big heart pinata and took home all sorts of fun hearty gifts. We also ate pizza, veggies and yummy birthday cake. Carlee helped her Grandma Pobieglo decorate her own cake this year. She had a lot of fun doing it and it turned out beautiful!

We had a great time with 12 little, giggly, sweet and fun girls!

Thank you to everyone who came and made Carlee's birthday special!

It's snowing!

Okay, so not really here in sunny Arizona. But Carlee's school has a "snow day" for all the kindergarteners every year. They bring in a big truck that has blocks of ice they shave down and spray snow with. It's really fun for some of the kids who have never seen snow or played in it. Carlee had a good time and stayed warm since we have some snow clothes. She made a snow angel, had fun chasing her friends and when they were all done they had hot cocoa and donuts, yum!

Missing...

One front tooth!! It's official, Logan FINALLY lost a tooth! He was 1 when he cut his first tooth so the dentist said it would be a while before Logan lost any teeth, boy was his right! His "big" tooth has already grown in behind his baby tooth, that's what helped get it going. Logan has been "loosening" up the tooth for about a week. Last night Mike and I went out to dinner and got a sitter. When we got home Logan came running to me with a goofy grin on his face and a hole in his mouth. He was SO excited because he pulled the tooth himself. I asked him where it was and then he got teary eyed and said he lost it! WHAT!!??!! You just pulled your first tooth and you lost it already?? He proceeded to tell us that the sitter told him to go rinse his mouth out and then put the tooth in a safe place until we got home. (Later the sitter told us as soon as she told him that she had the thought that she should have taken the tooth from him then but did not) Logan went to the bathroom to rinse his mouth, while holding the tooth in his hand over the sink. It fell out of his hand. He said he wasn't sure if it went down the drain or not. Mike broke out the tools pulled the trap and NO TOOTH! We questioned Logan again, do you think you dropped it on the floor, are you sure it didn't go down the drain, etc.? So everyone got down on their hands and knees looking for Logan's very small, white baby tooth on the floor. Mike picked up the bathroom rug and gave it a little shake and, tink...tink...tink. NO BODY MOVE! The tooth had fallen out of the rug and we found it!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Logan was so happy and now he has a great story to tell along with losing his first tooth! KIDS I TELL YA!!

Congrats Logan and the tooth fairy made her first appearance at our house!!

After surgery

Here is a picture I snapped of Logan after his 3rd surgery last week. He was very angry coming out of the anesethesia this time. He was swinging and yelling and the nurses were yelling at him because he was being combative. This picture is when they passed him off to Mike and he passed out again for about 3 minutes. Logan was also sick all day from the anesethesia this time, unlike before. He threw up all day and couldn't eat a thing. So far, so good though this time around.

We'll see how it all ends up in a year or two.

3rd times a charm...we hope!

Logan has had 2 sets of ear tubes since he was 3. He will be 8 this summer and tomorrow will be his 3rd set! He's just "one of THOSE kids", we've been told in not so many words. He doesn't have ear infections but when he does get fluid in his ears his body does not re-absorb the fluid and it builds-up and builds-up in his ears until it turns thicker than glue. Then it starts to bulge his ear drum out and cause hearing loss. We've been "yelling" at him (not because he's always bad - but because he CAN NOT hear). He can't hear anything under 35 decibles, which is bad. The poor kid can't hear the TV, radio or toys that are sometimes making noise. I've noticed his speech and reading are being affected too. So, back to the ENT and our 3rd set of tubes. Hopefully this will be it and he'll finally out grow it or his body will do what it's supposed to.

Christmas Part 3

We were finally able to celebrate Christmas with Mike's family on Sat. Dec. 27th. We opened presents, played and ate Christmas dinner (all over again, for the 3rd time!). It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time with some of their new toys. They sure made out like bandits this year! Carlee and Sara got matching helmets, very girlie ones with flowers and they are bright pink. Logan finally got his guitar hero for the Xbox and a new Full-Auto Nerf gun. The kids also got their traditional handmade blankets from grandma. I'm so thankful that both of our families live so close and we are able to spend time with them. It's especially meaningful around the holidays. Thank you to Grandma & Grandpa, Scott, Lindsay and Sara for a wonderful Christmas (and awesome gifts)!

Remember the old movie "A Christmas Story" with the little boy who only wants a Red Ryder Bee-Bee gun for Christmas?? Well...Logan didn't ask for one but got one any way from Grandpa Cronin. Mike has taught him all the rules that go with owning/shooting a gun and they have had some fun out in the backyard. Logan even got a bullseye after a few minutes of "practicing". He's a natural! It was really cold this particular day but Mike had been gone to work for 48 hours and Logan was dying to shoot his new gun. They both bundled up and I had to make hot chocolate for them. It was only 52 degrees, and we all know that is COLD in Arizona!

Mike was a good sport and let Logan shoot for about an hour.

Christmas Part 2

Mike had to work on Christmas Day (he was not supposed to but traded with a guy who really wanted to be home for his twins first Christmas, we were happy to accomodate him - tis the season). Mike starts shift @ 7:00 AM. So, we woke the kids up at 5:00 am and had "our" Christmas before Mike had to leave for work. The kids must have been very good this year because Santa went all out! Logan got a new Freestyle bike from Santa, he has already learned some new tricks. He also got a leather office chair for his computer desk in his room. Carlee got a boombox/CD player so she can sing her little heart out and a nightstand for her bedroom. After Mike left, I opened several gifts for each kid, gave them some milk and cereal and went back to bed! I was exhausted...and everyone knows I'm NOT a morning person! The kids played really well and had fun with their new toys and games. Then we went to Mike's grandmothers house to visit with his extended family and have some Christmas brunch, yummy! The kids and I played some more at home and opened more toys. Can I just say how tired I am of trying to open things that have a MILLION zip-ties and twist ties with plastic shrouds!!! GRRRR!! We then ended up at my parents house for the evening. The adults resting while the kids all played (Jared, Nicole, Audrey & Livvy came too).

We had breakfast for dinner and watched the rain and clouds over the Superstition Mountains.

Christmas Part 1

As every year goes, we had to "do" Christmas over a few days because of Mike's work schedule. We got together with the Cronin's on Christmas Eve to celebrate with them. We had 2 hours of opening presents!!! THANK YOU GRANDMA & GRANDPA CRONIN!! All the grandkids received laptops (kid ones, not real ones). This was their favorite gift (which I neglected to get pics of) the boys got Batman, Carlee got a Barbie and Audrey & Livvy got Baby Einstien laptops!! Then after all that excitement and use of energy we had a wonderful Christmas dinner (mostly thanks to Mike for cooking while we finished opening gifts). We had a fabulous time and we loved hosting Christmas at our house this year. I truly love my family and don't know what I would do without them! My favorite thing is to BE with my family, no matter where we get together. I love the kids running around, being able to visit and catch-up with everyone about what's going on and eating!

Our last Dune trip was the weekend before Christmas. There was hardly anyone there, it's like we had the whole place to ourselves, thousands of acres of sand, freshly groomed from the wind and rain!

It ROCKED!! Mike got pretty proficient at doing wheelies in the sandcar and shootin' a big rooster tail. Here are a couple pics to enjoy. The kids also thought it would be fun to have a "long jump" contest in the sand, down a hill. They convinced Uncle Scott to do it with them (daddy said no because it made his knee hurt just watching them, it's only been healed for a little over a year).

All who participated had fun and we laughed a lot!

Logan's quad broke down, bummer (2 strokes stink), so between Logan, his father and his uncle they decided it would be a good idea to put Logan on the pit bike that Mike has. This is a "suped up mini dirt bike". Mike uses it to play around and follow the kids. Here is Logan giving it a try and giving his mom a heart attack!!! Thank goodness he had ALL his gear on! He did fine and thinks he wants a motorcycle now!! UGH! Boys and their toys!!

First Dune Trip of the Season

These are some pictures from our first Dune trip this season. The weather was perfect and we had a blast! The kids are getting to be very good little riders. Mike is getting to be a great driver in the sand car too. He now does wheelies and jumps it alot!

We had a great time on Halloween. I spent the day volunteering at the kids school bouncing back and forth between the 2 classrooms. They had a Halloween Parade and Parties. Pumpkin Buffet and lunch. We went to a potluck the night before at my dad's realty office. Our neighborhood had our 3rd Annual Halloween Night Block Party. That is ALWAYS a blast! We EAT, visit, trick-o-treat, EAT, hang-out, EAT, let the kids run around for 4-5 hours with no rules because the street is blocked off and did I mention that we EAT a lot of YUMMY FOOD!!!! It's FABULOUS! Here are some pics from the day. Enjoy!

Cool Saturday!

Yesterday was a VERY NICE day here in Arizona. The high was around 80 degrees. We decided to take the kids hiking. We took them to Usery Park and hiked the Wind Cave Trail. It's a little over 3 miles, round trip. The kids had a blast, asked a lot of questions and said they would love to go again! We will probably go to a trail at Superstition Mountains next time.

My niece, Sara, is really funny. Recently one night when she was over playing she had to wear Carlee's red, sparkly "wizard of oz" shoes. She LOVES them and wears them often. She also had to wear Logan's Spiderman mask. When we asked her if she was "dorothy" or "spiderman"

she said, "NO I SARA!". Then she posed for this picture!! She's a riot!

Labor Day Fun!

Mike had to work on Labor Day but the kids and I were free to have fun. My brother-in-law, Scott and my sister-in-law, Lindsay both had the day off too. They found this new in-door play place that we went to go check out. It's called Jump & Shout! It's in the Mesa Riverview development @ Dobson & 202. It's an indoor jungle gym place that also has inflatable bouncy's and a small area for toddlers (which was great for my niece, Sara). During the month of September it's pay for one kid get the second kid free for 2 hours of playtime. It was $9 for both kids to play INDOORS for 2 hours. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time. They also invited a friend along, her name is Makenna. When we were done playing we went to lunch and took some ice cream to

the Fire station to visit Mike and his crew. It was a fun day!

Soccer season has started

Logan and Carlee are both playing soccer this season. This is Logan's 3rd season, he really enjoys playing. We tried to get Carlee to play last year but she backed out at the last minute when we went to sign up. This year though is a different story. She's having a blast and says she's SO GALD that she's playing this year. Here are a few pics from practices and their first games. Both of their teams won their first games. WHOO! HOO!

Back to School!

Logan started 2nd grade this year. He has a really nice, patient and fun teacher this year. He's doing very well in reading and coming along in his math. He has a lot of his neighborhood friends in his class, as well as some of the kids from last years class.

Carlee started ALL DAY Kindergarten. She LOVES school and can't wait to tell me all about it everyday when she gets home. I keep waiting for the "newness" of school to wear off but she still talks about it non-stop and how much she loves her teacher, friends and the school.

Here's a little story for you...the second week into school Mike was gone on shift, the kids were off to school and I had things to do (or so I thought). I went to the gym, got gas and went to the grocery store with my long list. I was IN & OUT of the store in LESS than 30 minutes!! Weird! I thought I had forgot something (or things) or maybe a kid or two??? No way could I be out of there in under 1.5 hours (and there was no screaming, fighting or extra things in the cart). I got home and put it all away, did some laundry, straightened up the house, checked email, returned some phone calls, took a shower (BEFORE the kids got home from school) then sat down on the couch BEFORE 2:00 pm. The kids don't get out of school until 3:00 and get off the bus at 3:30. I ACTUALLY HAD NOTHING TO DO AND YOU COULD HAVE HEARD A PIN DROP it was so quite in the house! VERY WEIRD AND UNUSUAL! But it was WONDERFUL to have some time to myself and be able to rest a little before the kids got home and the "chaos" started all over again.

What a change from the last 7 years! I'm FREE, I'm FREE!!!

I mean, I'm sad that my kids are gone ALL DAY!! wink, wink, hee, hee!!!!

Family Get-together

Recently my brother and sister-in-law were sealed in the Arizona Temple. We had a family dinner afterwards at Joe's Real BBQ in Gilbert. It is REALLY GOOD BBQ! You have to go sometime and feast on the delicious BBQ chicken, sides and WONDERFUL desserts! Here are a couple pics that we took (of course Mike was on shift that day). It's fun to see family that you don't get to see very often.

My grandpa and step-grandma came from Arkansas to celebrate, as well as some cousins from Thatcher, Queen Creek, Coolidge and other cities in Arizona.

California, here we come!

Since Mike and I took a trip we decided to take the kids for a trip too! 3 days after we got back from Hawaii (just long enough to wash laundry & re-pack) we took the kids to California. We went to Knott's Berry Farm, Knott's Soak City (water park) and the beach. Logan got his own Boogie board last year and loved it. This year it was Carlee's turn (it had to be pink, of course). Once she got the hang of it, we couldn't get her off of the board to leave (after 7 hours)!! My kids are definitely water kids.

They love the beach. It was so much fun and it was very nice, cool weather in California too! However, we were very ready to get home and not be living out of

suitcases and eating out after 2 1/2 weeks!

Hawaii

I'm way behind in my posting because we've been really busy since mid-July.

I promise to get caught up!

Mike and I went to Maui, Hawaii, again (we went for our 10th too), for our 12th anniversary this year. It is SO BEAUTIFUL there! It's relaxing, slow paced, quiet, beautiful, serene and it's perfect weather. We had a blast swimming, snorkeling, hiking, sight seeing, a boat/snorkeling trip to Molokini,

eating and shopping. Here are some of our favorite pictures.

Logan wanted a bouncy party this year for his birthday party. It was great! I highly recommend them especially if your kid is born in JULY when it's REALLY HOT! It was nice and cool inside and they played for 3 hours (including cake and gifts). Logan, his friends and family all had a lot of fun.

Starry Safari Water Night at the Zoo

We took the kids to the water night at the zoo a couple weeks ago. It was cheap but not all it's cracked up to be. We manged to have a good time any way and now we know what it's all about. They need to have MORE water slides to keep kids cool and have them broken down by age groups or something. There was A LOT of waiting in line (20 min.) to go down a slide for 3 seconds, it was like Disneyland downscaled. CRAZY!

Logan's Actual Birthday

Logan's actual birthday was on a Wednesday this year. It's kind of hard to have a party in the middle of the week. We spent the day as a family and took him to SunSplash. Then we invited the grandparents to go to dinner to one of Logan's favorite restaurants. I bet you'll never guess...LOGAN'S ROADHOUSE. We had a great dinner and Logan even got a birthday "YEEHAW" from the whole restaurant and a dessert. Then we went and "played" around in Bass Pro Shops. He loves the Shootin' Range. These are the only pictures I took. I was too busy talking at dinner and obviously didn't have the camera at the water park.

4th of July

Mike had to work on 4th of July so the kids and I went to my Aunt's for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun to see some of my family that I don't get to see on a regular basis. The little kids all got along really well and had a blast! We are so happy that the Stutts are in town! Thanks Aunt Cindy!

Camping at Bear Canyon Lake

We went camping at the end of June with my family and Mike's family along with some friends from the Fire Department. It was a lot of fun and nice to get away from the heat. The kids all got along really well and loved getting dirty! Jared and Nicole were troopers and Nicole even let Livvy get dirty! Livvy is definitely an "outdoor" kid, whereas Audrey is not.

Bounce U B-day party

I took the kids to a birthday party at Bounce U in Gilbert. They had the best time! Logan decided that he wants to have his birthday party at a bouncey place this year. Look for pictures in August (since it usually takes me a month AFTER the event to get things posted).

Backyard water fun!

We watched Landen one day so we decided to have a water day. We got a new "suped up" slip and slide, water guns, picnic table and food!

It was a lot of fun and the kids spent ALL day out side with barley any complaints. It was nice!

Mike was working at the Fire Station at Willams Gateway Airport so I took the kids to visit. While we were there we got to ride in the AARF truck (the one that goes to the rescue of the airplanes) and get a tour of the airport. The kids got to "fire" the water from the front of the truck. They said it's like playing a video game!

Carlee's 1st Dance Recital

Carlee had her first dance recital in May. We had a day of dress rehearsal and then the "real thing". She did really well and even helped the other girls remember the right steps. She's a natural and loves it! We are so proud of her! GO CARLEE!

Memorial Day Fun

We had a BBQ at our house for Memorial Day. It was fun. We broke out the bouncy for the kids and they had a blast! They all slept really well that night too!

Logan's Last day of 1st Grade

My how time flies! Logan will be in 2nd grade next year...CRAZY! He celebrated his last day of school with an ice cream party, shirt signing and games. Even Carlee got to come and participate. Logan had a wonderful teacher and she'll be very missed next year. She had to change schools for next year due to budget cuts. The kids all pitched in and got Mrs. Jameson a silver bracelette engraved with all of their names on it, the school year and school name. She was very surprised and got a little emotional that they all thought so highly of her to do that. Logan will have a lot of his friends in his class next year and he'll get to help his little sister around and "show her the ropes". It will be NICE (and a little sad, they're growing up so fast) to have both of them in ALL DAY school next year. Oh, don't worry about me...I'm sure I can find something to occupy all my free time! Actually, I don't think I'll know what to do with myself! :-)

Carlee's last day of Pre-K

Carlee celebrated her last day of Pre-K on May 15th. She had a great time singing, playing and having "snacks" that day. It's always fun to volunteer in the kids classrooms. Carlee is VERY much looking forward to Kindergarten. She can't wait to "go to school" with Logan.

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's day twice this year. Mike had to work on Mother's Day so I celebrated with my family that day. We celebrated with his family on Saturday, the day before. The kids got a little silly while we were together with Mike's family, as you can see from the pictures. Our niece, Sara, is still trying to grasp the concept of keeping her hands under her head to help support herself. My mom got 2 Massage gift certificates this year and is very excited to cash them in! I was able to go and get a pedicure and a massage as well for part of my gifts.

I have to say Mother's Day was not an ideal day for me though. Mike was at work, I had to clean the house to prepare for my family coming over. Logan was VERY ill and I ended up taking him to Urgent Care, after cooking dinner for my whole family!

All I have to say is...next year better ROCK, I earned it after this year!

Pretty hair!

Carlee got a set of hot rollers for her birthday (back in Feb., thanks grandma Pobieglo) and I fixed her hair for church a couple weeks ago. She wanted me to take pictures of it. She loves getting "glamed-up" for church! Her hair is so long and still kind of fine that it doesn't stay curly for more than and hour. Maybe some day...

Once a month we get together with our neighbors and have dinner/poker night. There are about 5 couples that get together we eat A LOT, visit and try to play poker. It's a different neighbor's turn to host every month. Our turn was in May. The kids all run around and do what they'd like (just so the don't break anything or hurt each other - so far so good) while us adults play, visit and stuff our faces. Carlee and the neighbor girl finally crashed on Carlee's floor with make shift beds. It was so cute we took pics. Carlee was insistant that her friend stay the night, by the time we were done and the girls dad carried her home it was 12:10 AM, so technically she did stay the night!

A camping we will go...

We also went camping in April. The roads openend the day we left. We were really worried that we would have to cancel our trip because they wouldn't open in time. We went to our favorite spot, Bear Canyon Lake (12 miles from Woods Canyon Lake) up on the rim. It was beautiful during the day 65-70 degrees but at night is was chilly! 40-45 degrees! Thank goodness we have a heater in our trailer. There was still snow on the ground in areas where there were a lot of trees and shade. The kids loved it! As you can see from the pictures we are true Arizona natives! The kids played in shorts and t-shirts but they had a great time. We caught several fish, did a little riding, lounging and had a great time away from the normal everyday rush! However, what kind of trip would it be if nothing went wrong?? I had food poisoning the first 2 days and spent them in the trailer in the bathroom (thank goodness for the trailer). Then the day we left the alternator went out on the truck and left us stranded in the woods! We are so grateful for our friends, the Barrera's, for letting Mike take their mini-van and drive to Payson to get a new part. We got the truck fixed and got home (5 hours after we started). All in all it was still fun and we always have good stories about our trips!

Mike and I both celebrated birthday's last month. We went to dinner for Mike's birthday. He was in a class all day for CrossFit certification. Look it up www.crossfit.com He's now certified Level One so he can teach you what you want to know or learn. He's a die hard fan and I must say he's never been in better shape!
For my birthday I was treated to brunch, a pedicure, a massage and dinner! It's the best birthday I've had in years...I think. We also celebrated Mike's twin brothers, Scott, one of my niece's birthday and my sister-in-law, Lindsay's.

She's a Big Girl now!

So 2 weeks ago Carlee finally wanted to try to ride her bike without the training wheels. She has been really scared to take them off (we've been trying for months). So she tells Mike, "dad, please take my training wheels off, I think I want to try it now". So Mike takes them off she gives it a couple of tries and totally gets the hang of it after a couple times! She then walks over and picks up the training wheels and throws them in the trash and tells Mike, "I don't need those anymore, I'm a big girl now and I can ride my bike like a big girl!". Well.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is loving every minute she gets to spend outside on her bike.

She also keeps up with the other neighborhood kids pretty well now. Go Carlee!

My, not so little, boy

We got another new camera and Mike happened to snap a picture of Logan. He is really starting to look "older" to me. He's not my "little" boy anymore. Oh, how fast they grow! (sniff, sniff)

The Last One

This was our last Dune trip of the season (it's just too dang hot to go now!).

We took Mike's 2 cousins, Michaela & Makenzie, with us. They had a great time and they were very helpful with all the kids. They are such good girls! We went for Spring Break and Easter.

It was a lot of fun and the Easter Bunny even found the kids way out in the the big sand box

(they were really worried about this...they thought he wouldn't find them).

As usual the kids made out like bandits with the Easter loot!

Michaela and Makenzie had a great time ridin' around in the Rhino.

The little kids got to play in a small swimming pool on 2 of the afternoons

because it got a little warm in the sun. Thanks grandma & grandpa for bringing this!

It helped keep them cool and entertained!
